PPA Cover Teacher – Primary
Location: Southwark, South London
Salary: £160–£200 per day, depending on experience
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary
Start date: 21 September 2026
An inclusive inner-city primary school in Southwark is looking for a confident PPA Cover Teacher to teach across its vibrant and diverse community. This long-term opportunity suits a teacher who thrives on variety and can deliver engaging lessons while preserving each class’s established routines.
You will work from teacher-prepared plans and collaborate with phase teams to ensure continuity of learning. The school values culturally responsive teaching, high expectations and a warm, respectful classroom climate.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 as timetabled
- Make learning accessible to pupils with SEND, EAL and varied starting points
- Maintain positive behaviour and safe classroom routines
- Assess understanding and leave clear feedback for class teachers
- Mark work in accordance with school expectations
- Build positive relationships quickly across the school

The ideal PPA Cover Teacher will have:
- UK QTS and strong recent primary-school experience
- Secure knowledge across the primary curriculum
- Excellent behaviour-management and communication skills
- Flexibility, resilience and confidence in new classes
- The right to work in the UK
