Job title: PPA Cover Teacher – Lewisham

Location: Lewisham, London
Salary: £160 - £200 per day, depending on qualifications and experience.
Start date: 9 November 2026
Contract: Full time, temporary, long term.
Hours: Term time; daily hours and assignment arrangements confirmed before placement.

Enjoy getting to know different classes while bringing a steady approach to every lesson? Transparency Education is recruiting a PPA Cover Teacher in Lewisham to provide primary cover during teachers’ planning, preparation and assessment time.

You will work across an agreed timetable, helping pupils settle quickly and continue learning with confidence. The year groups, subject coverage and any preparation responsibilities will be discussed before placement so you can understand what the school needs.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lessons across the agreed primary PPA timetable.
  • Establish expectations quickly while respecting each class’s routines.
  • Prepare or adapt resources in line with the school’s requirements.
  • Work with teaching assistants to support participation and learning.
  • Leave concise feedback on progress, completed work and follow-up needs.

Requirements

  • QTS and primary classroom teaching experience.
  • Confidence teaching different year groups and adjusting explanations.
  • Reliable organisation, effective classroom management and clear handovers.
  • An enhanced DBS check, or willingness to complete one as part of the recruitment process.
