Mechanical Engineer
Salary: Up to £44,000
Location: Gainsborough
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm, with some flexibility around planned shutdowns
Job Role of the Mechanical Engineer
A leading manufacturing business is currently recruiting for a mechanically biased engineer to join its established engineering team.
The Mechanical Engineer will complete planned maintenance across a range of production equipment, alongside supporting breakdowns when required. The role will involve mechanical fault finding, blade changes, lubrication, and continuous improvement activities across a fast-paced manufacturing site.

Non-Negotiable Requirements for the Mechanical Engineer
- Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Mechanical maintenance experience within a manufacturing or production environment
- Experience completing planned preventative maintenance
- Mechanical fault-finding and breakdown experience

Requirements for the Mechanical Engineer
- Apprentice-trained or suitably experienced in mechanical maintenance
- Experience working on conveyors and production machinery
- Ability to install and set up blades to tight tolerances
- Understanding of safe maintenance practices and Health & Safety procedures
- Experience completing maintenance records and PPM documentation
- Ability to work closely with Engineering and Operations teams
Desirable Requirements for the Mechanical Engineer
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Food, FMCG, agricultural, or heavy-industrial experience
- Continuous improvement and downtime-reduction experience
