How you will make an impact
As a PPM Technician at Arla Foods Stourton this role is based in our cremery, you will play a vital role in maximising asset reliability, reducing downtime, and ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes. Through proactive inspections, preventative maintenance, and effective problem-solving, you will help improve equipment performance and operational efficiency.
- Working closely with operations and engineering teams, you will drive continuous improvement, develop and optimise maintenance plans, and share your expertise to enhance team capability.
- Your contribution will directly support product quality, production targets, and a safe, reliable manufacturing environment.
- Execute planned maintenance activities to improve maintenance execution on site to prevent failures, source necessary spare parts, and update the engineering plan.
- Utilise SAP CMMS and FastWork to record all maintenance activities and contribute to top loss review and action closure.
- Ensure OEE is realised through data analysis and effective CI work to reduce unplanned stops, leading RCA with site teams, maintaining technical standards including SOPs, SMPs and work instructions and support knowledge sharing and skill development across operations and engineering.
- Serve as an ambassador for safety and food quality, adhering and championing LOTO, Permit to Work, and other protocols.
- Provide technical input to CAPEX projects.

This role sits within our Engineering team at Stourton Dairy and will be Monday-Thursday, 10 hour days based shifts.
What will make you successful
You’ll bring experience from FMCG, food, or other regulated manufacturing environments, along with a time‑served or apprentice‑trained engineering background at NVQ Level 3/ONC, HNC or above. Strong problem‑solving skills are essential, particularly when it comes to RCA and fault‑finding, and you’ll be confident using systems such as SAP PM or similar CMMS tools, as well as Microsoft Office. Thriving in this role also means being able to work at pace, communicate clearly, and collaborate effectively across teams.
On a personal level, you’ll stand out through your proactive, solutions‑focused approach, your commitment to safety and attention to detail, and your ability to work as a genuinely collaborative team player.
