Part-Qualified Accountant - Central London | £competitive | Hybrid 2 days in the office
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part-Qualified Accountant to join the European Finance team of a well-known, fast-growing consumer business with an international footprint and a portfolio of much-loved household brands.
This is a great opportunity for an ambitious accountant who would like to build their career within a sophisticated Group Finance environment, gaining broad exposure across financial control, reporting and accounting while working alongside an experienced team.
You'll join a collaborative Finance function supporting several Financial Controllers and the Head of Group Finance, giving you the opportunity to learn from experienced finance professionals and develop a broad understanding of how a complex international consumer business operates.
The role
Working as part of the team, you'll support the Financial Controllers and wider finance function across a variety of accounting and reporting activities.
Your responsibilities will include and you will be supported to grow into this role:
- Supporting the Financial Controllers with month-end and year-end accounting.
- Preparing journals, accruals, prepayments and other accounting adjustments.
- Supporting balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances.
- Assisting with financial reporting and analysis.
- Supporting the team with group accounting and consolidation activities.
- Helping to review and analyse costs, including areas such as marketing and commercial expenditure.
- Working with colleagues across different entities and functions within the Group.
- Supporting the preparation of information for internal reporting and wider finance requirements.
- Contributing to process improvements and helping the team find more efficient ways of working.
- Taking on increasing responsibility as your knowledge and confidence develop.

The role will give you exposure to a broad range of finance activities rather than being restricted to one narrow area of accounting.
About you
We're looking for someone who is part-qualified and actively progressing towards a professional accounting qualification, with a genuine desire to continue developing their career.
You might currently be working as an Assistant Accountant, Management Accountant or similar and be looking for your next step into a broader Group Finance environment.
You'll ideally have:
- Part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA status, or be actively studying towards qualification.
- Good grounding in core accounting principles.
- Experience of month-end accounting, journals and reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- Good Excel skills and confidence working with financial information.
- Curiosity and a willingness to understand the why, not just process the numbers.
- A collaborative and approachable style.
- The confidence to ask questions, learn from others and take ownership as your experience develops.
