Permanent - Full Time Hours
AAT Qualified & PQ ACCA, ACA or CIMA
Leeds based but remote working
£39,000 - £43,000
Your new role
The role offers broad exposure across financial control, treasury, audit, reporting and tax, making it ideal for someone looking to develop their accounting career within the charity or wider public sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of finance responsibilities in a values-led environment.
Some of the key responsibilities will be:
- Producing daily cash position reports and supporting cash flow forecasting
- Performing bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
- Maintaining lease and fixed asset accounting records
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting month-end processes
- Assisting with statutory accounts preparation and external audit requirements
- Supporting VAT returns and wider tax compliance activities
- Monitoring intercompany balances and resolving variances
- Assisting with insurance administration and fleet-related financial records
- Supporting credit control and income assurance activities when required
- Completing regulatory and statistical financial reporting submissions
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and reporting efficiency

What you'll need to succeed
This role would particularly suit someone who enjoys variety, working collaboratively across teams and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
- AAT qualification or are studying towards ACCA, CIMA or ACA
- Previous experience within a finance or accounting environment
- Strong reconciliation, month-end and financial control experience
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- A proactive mindset and a desire to improve processes and controls

Experience within the public sector, charity, healthcare or wider not-for-profit sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
