World Wide Technology (WWT) is looking for an experienced PQC Architect for intersection of cryptographic architecture and platform/automation engineering.
The ideal candidate will combine deep knowledge of cryptographic primitives and protocols with hands-on engineering skill — building APIs, automating manual processes, and integrating with existing core cryptography and security platforms.
This is a contract Role & Inside IR35
PQC Architect
Contract Duration: 6 months!
Location: Manchester, UK (Hybrid)
Key Responsibilities
- Build and automate cryptographic service capabilities.
- Develop APIs, tooling and self-service solutions.
- Integrate cryptographic services into CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines.
- Simplify and remove manual operational processes.
- Partner with application, cloud and infrastructure engineering teams.
- Drive platform reliability, resilience and service adoption.
- Support crypto-agility and future cryptography initiatives.
- Champion engineering best practices and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For
Essential
- Strong software, platform or infrastructure engineering background.
- Experience building and supporting enterprise-scale services.
- Strong automation and scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Java, Go or similar).
- API development and systems integration experience.
- CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP).
- Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Passion for simplifying complex problems through engineering.
Desirable
- Knowledge of PKI and certificate management.
- Awareness of cryptographic services and key management.
- Security engineering or DevSecOps experience.
- Experience with Kubernetes, cloud-native platforms or machine identities.
- Interest in cryptography, crypto-agility and post-quantum security.
