Our work spans media relations, thought leadership, content and campaigns, and we are known for getting substantive B2B technology stories into national, business, trade and broadcast media.
Role overview
We are looking for an Account Executive to join MHP Technology, the specialist technology practice within MHP Group. This is a junior role: we are open to candidates with up to around 18 months of PR or communications experience, and to strong graduates or interns who can show us they have the instincts for it. What matters most is that you are curious about technology, want to get stories into the media, and are ready to learn fast.

You will work across a portfolio of B2B and B2C technology clients, from global brands to venture-backed start-ups. Right now, that includes businesses in enterprise software, AI and data, digital identity and payments, cybersecurity, connected appliances, data centres and digital infrastructure, and clean technology.

As an Account Executive at MHP Group, you will:
- Pitch stories to journalists, follow up, and secure coverage for clients across trade, business and national media
- Write drafts of press releases, pitches, media comment and short-form content, and improve them with feedback from senior colleagues
- Keep accounts running day to day: status reports, action planners, contact reports, coverage tracking and reporting
- Monitor the news and the media agenda for your clients and spot reactive opportunities
- Build your own relationships with the journalists who cover your clients’ sectors
- Support social and third-party activity where it is part of a client programme
- Carry out desk research and help prepare materials for new business pitches
- Use AI tools every day for research, monitoring, drafting and analysis, as the whole team does, and help us find better ways of working with them

What you will learn:
- How to find the story in a complex technology business and make it interesting to a journalist
- How B2B technology media works, from trade titles to the nationals and broadcast
- How to run an account: client handling, planning, budgets and reporting

Who we are looking for:
- Genuinely interested in technology and in how businesses use it. You do not need a technical background, but you need to want to understand how things work
- Comfortable picking up the phone to a journalist, and resilient when the answer is no
- A clear, accurate writer who can take feedback and improve quickly
- Organised and reliable: the team will depend on you to keep the detail in order
- A reader of the news, with a good sense of what is a story and what is not
- Already using AI tools and curious about what they can do
- A team player who brings energy and good humour to the work
- Up to around 18 months of relevant experience, or a strong graduate or intern with evidence of the above
