PR Account Manager - PR & Communications Agency - Cheltenham (Hybrid)

A fantastic opportunity to manage a team of experienced and dedicated professionals within an award-winning, well-established and growing Cheltenham-based PR agency.
We’re looking for a creative, analytical Public Relations (PR) Account Manager to lead a team in developing and executing intelligent PR and media strategies that fulfil the objectives of our varied range of clients.
You will need excellent verbal and written communications skills, meticulous planning skills and an up-to-date knowledge of industry trends.
We are looking for someone to inspire and build effective relationships with our team of motivated professionals, both internally and across our excellent external base of stakeholders.
Ideally, you will already be in a B2B or B2C PR management role, ideally for an agency and looking for a new challenge. However, we will also consider applications from those in a senior PR position with proven management experience, looking for a rewarding step forward in their career.

The position is full-time, based in our head office in Cheltenham around 3 days a week with some home working too.
You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside the best in the PR industry, all with over 20 years in the PR industry and London agency experience.
Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing comprehensive public relations strategies that align with client objectives
- Managing media relations, including developing and maintaining relationships with key journalists and influencers
- Being able to spot opportunities to grow existing accounts and bring in new business into the agency
- Leading the crisis communication efforts for our clients, including developing and implementing crisis communication plans
- Overseeing and producing PR materials, such as press releases, speeches, and presentations
- Measuring and reporting on the effectiveness of PR efforts and making adjustments as needed
- Leading and managing a team of PR professionals, providing career counsel, professional development support, monitoring and assisting with performance reviews
- Staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices to ensure our strategies are delivering the best ROI for our clients

Profile
The successful candidate will ideally have the following expertise:
- Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations, ideally with at least 1 year in a management role, preferably some agency-side (but not essential)
- Strong written and verbal communication and skills
- Experience with media relations, crisis communication, and internal communications
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a team and develop relationships with all stakeholders
- Proven expertise in analysing data to monitor the success of PR activity and develop new strategies
- Strong project management skills
