Global PR and Communications Director

Position: GLOBAL PR & COMMS DIRECTOR (MAT COVER)
Location: UK, London or Bournemouth (Hybrid)
Start date: 16th November 2026
Contract: 12-month full-time fixed contract until November 2027
Reports to: VP of Brand
Direct reports: 1x in-house, 2x agencies

SUMMARY

As the Global PR & Comms Director, you’ll be responsible for the development and implementation of our PR and Communications strategy across four key markets. Leading and managing regional PR teams to grow brand advocacy and awareness. This role requires a seasoned strategic leader with extensive knowledge of consumer PR, thought leadership, investor relations, incident management, and affiliates. For this FTC we are looking for a dynamic and creative comms specialist with a particular expertise within the UK market and business comms who is confident within a rapidly evolving, fast-paced, and disruptive business environment.

This is an FTC, covering a 12-month leave until November 2027. The role reports to the VP of Brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development and implementation of our Global PR & Communications strategy
  • Manage and mentor the global PR team consisting of one in-house regional press officer and two regional agencies within the US, UK, Australia, and Germany
  • Lead our Comms Department inclusive of issue and crisis management, investor relations channel
  • Develop and manage global materials, budgets, and reporting tools
  • Provide executive communications support for the leadership team, alongside stakeholder communications counsel to wider departments
  • Prepare and submit all award entries across design, product, and business
  • Partner with broader department and business leaders, contributing to an effective and measurable business strategy to drive brand familiarity and growth

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 6+ years of proven experience leading a PR team with a track record of success in multiple international markets – ideally including Australia and Germany
  • Extensive knowledge of consumer PR, thought leadership, crisis comms, affiliates, and investor relations
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, global environment
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven ability to build and motivate global teams
  • Outstanding written, presentation, and verbal communications skills, with the ability to distill messages into clear, compelling communications in a variety of formats
  • Possession of existing press relationships and a strong understanding of the media/digital landscape particularly within the UK
  • Ability to articulate and co-create strategies with a wide range of people, including senior leaders, agency partners, and employees at all levels of experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the role of affiliates within the modern media landscape
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational, budgeting, and project management skills, adaptable to regional requirements
  • Analytical mindset, with experience measuring PR success through KPIs and data to inform global strategy
  • Creativity and a passion for creating memorable and disruptive PR campaigns to drive greater brand advocacy and awareness
