PR & Content Assistant – FTC, 4 days a week
Montgomery Group are currently working on a range of exciting plans to develop our events and content in order to connect and inspire our communities even more. As part of those plans, we are looking for a PR & Content Assistant to join our team based in central London.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start or develop their career in PR, content and events. Working across both the PR and Content teams, the role will provide support across our portfolio of food, drink and hospitality exhibitions, including Food, Drink & Hospitality Week.
The role will involve a mixture of administration, research, writing and communication with speakers, journalists, exhibitors and industry partners. You do not need extensive professional experience, but you should be curious, organised, confident in your writing and keen to learn about the industries and communities our events serve.
About You
The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, organised and eager to learn. You may be a recent graduate, in your first communications or events role, or looking to begin a career in PR, content or live events.
You should enjoy writing and researching unfamiliar subjects, be comfortable communicating with different people and have excellent attention to detail. You will need to be able to work across multiple events and projects at the same time, keeping track of deadlines and ensuring information remains accurate and up to date.
You should also be happy to get involved in live events, from supporting speakers and journalists onsite to attending industry events and networking opportunities.
This Role Requires Someone With
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with good spelling and grammar.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- An interest in researching new subjects, industries and trends.
- Confidence communicating professionally by email, telephone and in person.
- The ability to work across different teams and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- A proactive approach and willingness to ask questions, respond to feedback and develop new skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- An interest in PR, editorial content and live events.
- An interest in the food, drink and hospitality industries.
- Flexibility to attend events and occasionally work outside standard office hours.

Previous experience, an internship or volunteering within PR, media, marketing, publishing or events would be helpful, but is not essential. We are more interested in your potential, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the PR and Content teams.
- Maintain speaker trackers, media databases, coverage reports, schedules and shared resources.
- Research industry news, trends, organisations, potential event topics and prospective speakers.
- Help identify relevant speakers and contributors for live content programmes.
- Draft speaker invitations and other routine correspondence for review.
- Liaise with confirmed speakers to collect biographies, headshots, session information and presentation materials.
- Ensure speakers receive the correct information, deadlines and event details in the lead-up to each event.
- Help maintain event programmes and speaker information across websites and other digital platforms.
- Assist with creating and maintaining stage PowerPoint presentations.
- Support the delivery of seminar programmes and speaker activity onsite at live events.
- Research exhibitors, partners, speakers and industry developments to identify potential PR and editorial stories.
- Assist with drafting press releases, news stories, articles, interviews, blogs and website content.
- Repurpose existing content for websites, newsletters, LinkedIn and other marketing channels.
- Help prepare and distribute approved press releases and other media materials.
- Monitor industry news and flag potential PR and content opportunities.
- Track media coverage and maintain accurate reporting.
- Help coordinate interviews involving journalists, speakers, exhibitors, partners and event spokespeople.
- Support press office activity before and during live events.
- Attend exhibitions, networking events, launches and awards ceremonies when required.
- Contribute ideas for stories, event sessions and other content.
- Use AI-powered tools to support research, writing, administration and productivity.

The central London, dog-friendly offices are in a Georgian townhouse, close to Oxford Street and Marylebone High Street with private access to Manchester Square Gardens. Hybrid working is offered to all applicants, with a minimum of 4 days in the office, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Core hours are 9-5pm but flexibility outside these hours will be required to suit the needs of the business.
