Capital&Centric aren't your typical property developer. We don't do beige. We don't do boring. We take unloved buildings and forgotten spaces and turn them into jaw-dropping places to live, work and hang out, with social impact, community, placemaking and outstanding design baked in from day one.

We're behind some of the UK's most talked-about regeneration projects - Kampus and Piccadilly East in Manchester, Goods Yard in Stoke, Weir Mill in Stockport and The Littlewoods Project in Liverpool (we could go on…). Our projects span residential, workspace, hotels, leisure and mixed-use neighbourhoods. We've got several live construction sites and loads more in the pipeline. You've probably seen us on the telly too, starring in BBC2 and Channel 4 prime-time shows.

We're also the founders of Regeneration Brainery, our not-for-profit that opens up careers in property to the next generation - over 6,000 young people and counting. And we co-founded Embassy Village, a first-of-its-kind community for people experiencing homelessness.

Now we're looking for a PR & Engagement Coordinator to help tell our story, and make sure the right people hear it.

This isn't just a desk-and-press-release kind of role. You'll be out in communities hosting consultation events and responding to the media interest that comes with being one of the UK's most talked-about developers. One day you might be running a public consultation in Stoke, the next you're placing a feature in a national title, the next you're briefing a journalist on a new scheme.

You'll work closely with our hands-on Head of Marketing & Comms, the rest of the marketing team, and PR agencies - but you’ll be the sole person with a 100% PR focus.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

ABOUT THE JOB

Storytelling & Media Relations - roughly 50% of your time

  • Shape and write compelling press stories about our business updates.
  • Proactively pitch stories and interview opportunities to regional, national, trade and specialist media.
  • Build and maintain genuine relationships with journalists. We don’t expect you to have this from day 1 and there’ll be a lot of contact lists you blast releases at to start.
  • Monitor and evaluate coverage, track impact and keep the team informed.
  • Spot newsjacking opportunities and work with team members to pitch stories on the back of this.
  • Keep a close eye on the news agenda, public policy and built environment sector, and connect the dots to C&C's work.
  • Use PR outreach tools hands-on.

Public Consultation & Community Engagement - roughly 25% of your time

  • Plan, advertise and host public consultation events for our development projects - working with local authorities, communities and stakeholders.
  • Research and map stakeholders ahead of consultations.
  • Gather, analyse and report on consultation feedback in a clear, usable way.
  • Build trusted relationships with local authority contacts and community groups.
  • Occasional evening and weekend events - a driving licence is essential as you'll need to get to sites across our project locations.

Inbound Media & Reputation Management - roughly 25% of your time

  • Handle inbound press enquiries promptly – you’ll act as the first port of call but work with the business to get the right answers.
  • Manage reactive media situations, knowing when to escalate.
  • Maintain up-to-date media lines, FAQs and briefing notes across active projects.
  • Support spokespeople with briefing notes and interview preparation.

ABOUT YOU

We're not hung up on a perfect CV. And we’re open to talking to different people who think they’d love to work here and could do well at the role. However, our ideal candidate may look like the below:

  • Experience in a press office, PR agency or in-house comms role - you've done this before and you've got the coverage to prove it.
  • Some experience working with or alongside local authorities or in the public sector is a real plus.
  • Confident pitching journalists directly and building media relationships from scratch.
  • Outstanding writing skills across multiple formats - press release, comment piece, consultation report, you can do it all.
  • Hands-on experience with PR outreach and monitoring tools.
  • Comfortable planning and running public-facing events, from the invite list to the debrief.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused - the Head of Comms is hands-on and collaborative, but you don't need managing.
  • Genuinely curious about cities, regeneration, housing and the built environment.
  • Full UK driving licence - you'll need it for site and consultation visits.
