The Role

We have an exciting new opportunity for a PR Director to join Robert Walters as a Consultant. As a consultant, you will benefit from permanent employment with Robert Walters and be deployed on assignment within one of our clients, a major digital investment management business. In return, we will provide you with opportunities to develop your skills through ongoing training and professional support.

This role requires extensive PR and Communications experience, preferably within retail investing or financial services.


What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain a consistent media strategy for the leadership team, working closely with senior business stakeholders.
  • Design and deliver consumer PR strategies that support key commercial and organisational objectives.
  • Identify, develop and implement creative storytelling opportunities that engage journalists and enhance brand visibility.
  • Lead PR initiatives that promote greater participation in retail investing across the UK, both directly and through industry bodies and trade associations.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to support the delivery of consumer-focused campaigns.
  • Manage and respond to media enquiries in partnership with internal stakeholders.
  • Leverage established media relationships to increase awareness of the organisation's activities and achievements.
  • Work closely with external PR agencies to ensure the successful delivery of agreed objectives and campaigns.
  • Partner with internal and corporate communications teams to maximise the visibility and impact of key achievements across the organisation.

Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional experience in consumer communications / public relations.
  • Previous experience within consumer financial services.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and delivering effective consumer PR campaigns.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of risk management, compliance and professional conduct.
  • Strong understanding of the media landscape.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with high levels of integrity, accountability and respect for diverse perspectives and working styles.
  • Strong strategic thinking, attention to detail and delivery skills, with excellent written communication and digital literacy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good understanding of the UK retail investment market; knowledge of other European markets is beneficial.
  • Interest in both internal and external communications.
  • Experience in agency and/or in-house communications roles, ideally within a consumer-focused business.
