Join the Fight Against E-Waste: Consumer PR Executive Role

Do you want to use your PR superpowers to lead a national movement that protects the planet? Recycle Your Electricals is looking for a brilliant Consumer PR Exec to support campaigns that inspire, educate, and mobilise millions of people across the UK to take action.

About Material Focus

Material Focus is an award-winning, independent, mission-driven not-for-profit on a journey to solve one of the UK’s fastest-growing environmental challenges: electronic waste (e-waste). Operational since 2020, they are a small but mighty 14-person team.

Material Focus collaborates across the sector, producing thought leadership, research, and innovation funding to catalyse the development of a thriving circular electricals system. From Hypnocat Holograms to partnering with artists on massive toaster installations, Recycle Your Electricals (by Material Focus) runs high-impact, creative consumer campaigns. Their mission? To change what people do with their old electricals, to save valuable materials inside them from going to waste. Over 75% of the materials inside our tech and gadgets can be recycled, yet millions are still binned or stashed away in drawers.

Recycle Your Electricals, the primary consumer-facing campaign, is a nationwide initiative designed to shift public behaviour towards e-waste by inspiring, educating, and encouraging everyone across the UK to act. From funding community drop-off points to executing major national cultural activations, they make recycling small electricals both mentally and physically easier for millions of people.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
