About the Role
If you are the sort of person who reads a technology story and immediately starts wondering what the real story behind it is, this could be the PR role for you. The Opportunity Hub UK is recruiting for a Junior Account Executive (JAE) / Account Executive who combines curiosity, creativity and confidence with a genuine interest in technology and the media.
Location: Holborn, London, UK
Salary: Junior Account Executive £25,000 to £27,500, depending on experience
Working pattern: Hybrid, three days in the office and two days working from home
Company Overview
The Opportunity Hub UK is recruiting on behalf of a specialist technology PR consultancy working with brands across the technology sector. The agency helps businesses turn complex, technical and sometimes highly specialist subjects into stories that journalists and their audiences genuinely care about.
This is a team that values people who think beyond simply completing a task. They are looking for someone who wants to understand how things work, gets under the skin of unfamiliar subjects and thinks carefully about what makes something interesting, relevant and newsworthy.
The culture combines flexibility with genuine career development. Standout performers can progress quickly, while everyone is supported through a personal development plan focused on building a long-term career in communications.
Job Overview
This Junior Account Executive (JAE) / Account Executive position is ideal for someone in the early stages of their PR career who wants to develop specialist expertise within technology communications.
For candidates joining at Junior Account Executive level, the salary is £25,000 to £27,500 depending on experience, with competitive salaries benchmarked against the wider industry and reviewed annually.
Previous technology experience is important, while previous PR agency experience would be highly beneficial. You could be looking to establish yourself as a Junior Account Executive, already be working as a JAE and looking to progress, or be an Account Executive looking for an environment where you can develop your media relations and creative campaign skills.
The successful Junior Account Executive / Account Executive will need to understand how journalists think. You'll be curious enough to investigate complex technology topics, creative enough to uncover interesting angles and confident enough to pick up the phone and sell those ideas to the media.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
