Job purpose
As ramarketing’s PR Lead, you will lead and develop our PR capability, taking overall responsibility for the direction, performance, quality and development of the function and its people.
Reporting to the Head of Capabilities, you’ll set a clear direction for PR, ensuring the right expertise, skills, standards and ways of working are in place to deliver high-quality, integrated PR solutions for our clients.
You’ll lead and empower the PR team, creating clarity and accountability for performance, while developing the technical capability and confidence of the people within it.

Alongside leading the function, you’ll remain actively involved in client work, providing senior counsel and strategic direction where you can add the greatest value.
What you’ll be responsible for…
This is a leadership role with responsibility for both the impact of our PR capability and the value it creates for our clients.
You’ll balance people and functional leadership with technical credibility, client impact and the continued evolution of what we offer.

- Own the standards and quality of PR work, ensuring consistently strong strategic thinking and delivery across the team.
Evolve our PR expertise and offering
- Stay ahead of developments across media relations, reputation, thought leadership, technology and emerging communications channels, translating them into practical improvements.
- Shape how our PR capability and services evolve in response to changing client, industry and market needs.
- Maintain the technical credibility to challenge thinking, guide specialists and set a clear point of view for the discipline.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we are looking for...
You understand the craft well enough to challenge and develop experienced PR practitioners, but you also know that leading a capability is about more than technical expertise. You can set direction, create accountability, make good commercial decisions and bring people with you.

- A clear and empowering leader — you create direction and accountability without taking ownership away from your team.
- Technically credible and curious — you understand where PR and communications are heading and what that means for our clients.
- Commercially aware — you understand where PR expertise creates value and can connect great work to client and business outcomes.
- Collaborative and influential — you work across disciplines, communicate clearly and challenge constructively.
- Focused on raising standards — for the work, for the capability and for the people around you.
You’ll bring:
- Significant PR and communications experience, with strong strategic judgement and the credibility to guide and develop specialist practitioners.
- Proven experience leading people and teams, including performance, coaching, skills development and accountability.
- Strong strategic and client advisory experience, with the confidence to provide senior counsel and translate business objectives into effective communications approaches.
- A strong understanding of the evolving PR and media landscape, including media relations, reputation, thought leadership and the impact of changing technology and channels.

What success looks like…
A strong, accountable PR capability
- You’ll create clarity around what great looks like — from the standards of our work to the expectations we set for our people.
- Success means a confident, capable team that understands what’s expected, takes ownership and continues to develop its expertise.
PR expertise that keeps evolving
- You’ll ensure our capability keeps pace with a changing media and communications landscape rather than reacting to it after the fact.
- Success means changes in media, technology, reputation and communications are being assessed intelligently and translated into meaningful improvements to how we work and what we offer clients.
Credible senior client impact
- You’ll bring senior expertise to the work where it makes the greatest difference.
- Success means clients and internal teams trust your judgement, complex communications challenges have clear strategic direction, and our PR expertise contributes to stronger client outcomes.
An integrated and commercially valuable capability
