As a Digital PR Lead

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of Rise at Seven’s digital PR account teams, ensuring the delivery of high quality campaigns and reactive PR activity that meets/exceeds client KPIs and expectations. You’ll manage a portfolio of PR accounts, set strategies, manage budgets and profitability, participate in new business activity, and provide counsel to clients. You’ll also manage people - account managers will report to you, and you will counsel, coach and mentor your teams while setting a positive example.

PR Account Management

  • Take leadership on some of our biggest accounts within the PR department, leading the PR strategy and output for both reactive and campaign activity
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships by ensuring delivery against client KPIs and expectations
  • You see around corners - you demonstrate an understanding of potential issues facing your clients and offer appropriate solutions
  • You are a creative wizz and come up with award-winning campaign ideas, you lead, organise and participate in internal brainstorming sessions
  • Identify opportunities to organically grow existing client business by proactively pitching search-first ideas – ensuring the client is aware of the wider services on offer from Rise at Seven outside of day-to-day business
  • You are on the pulse and can identify relevant and innovative reactive ideas to land our clients amongst the biggest moments in the news cycle
  • Event management including press trips, photocalls, product launches and stakeholder interviews
  • Build product placement strategy and plans
  • Further grow expertise as an expert media relations practitioner, and ensure your team’s media output is exemplary
  • Develop and maintain senior media contacts and develop team media relations through introductions and face-to-face appointments – use contacts to leverage feature, coverage and content opportunities
  • Chair regular client meetings - drive an agenda and lead meetings to tangible outcomes
  • Drive projects internally from briefing to presentation to full implementation, delivery and analysis/measurement
  • Ensure that all client & internal deadlines are respected and adhered to (for you & direct reports)
  • Deliver written documents and communication with excellent attention to detail
  • Work with senior PR team to ensure profitability across your client portfolio
  • Liaise with client on production budgets for each campaign activity – ensure all budgets are approved

Team Management

  • Be responsible for a team within our PR department
  • Take ownership of their results ensuring KPIs are hit for clients within your team, assisting and directing your team when results are not as expected
  • Be responsible for managing appraisals for direct reports, supporting them with their progression - create KPIs and objectives during review processes
  • You take ownership of your teams utilisation, ensuring the team’s resources are used efficiently and effectively
  • Ensure the team is monitoring media daily, including newspapers, magazines, broadcast as well as online & social channels for client opportunities and to keep abreast of competitor news – provide added value insight and counsel to clients
  • Inspire team in day-to-day creativity
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, developments, and opportunities – and share with team
  • Ensure regular internal meetings take place on all clients – with team roles and responsibilities established every week
  • Manage expectations. Upward manage at all times – ensure senior team is aware of all challenges and issues (personal and client related)
  • Act as a positive role model for your direct team, peers and across the wider business
  • Support development and training of junior team members

Internal Responsibility

  • You will be part of our senior PR team - assisting with guiding the direction of the department and working closely with the PR director and Head of PR to grow the team
  • Support senior team on new business opportunities – research, development and pitch
  • Develop case studies to ensure great work is captured
  • Fully understand client finances and billing processes and how the agency makes money
  • Demonstrate positive contribution to the overall agency – beyond your day-to-day account/client work
  • Implement any other reasonable duties in line with the post which may be required
