In a nutshell

At Virgin Atlantic, we're more than just an airline—we're a brand that reimagines the way people experience travel. With a bold vision to become the most loved travel company, we thrive on challenging the status quo, pushing the boundaries of aviation, and celebrating individuality every step of the way.

The Role

As PR Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Atlantic Holidays' consumer and corporate public relations. From crafting impactful campaigns to managing media engagement, you’ll ensure our narrative consistently reflects our ambition, values, and brand identity.

This role blends strategy with creativity, requiring you to lead proactive storytelling initiatives and manage both high-profile campaigns and responsive media relations. You’ll work closely with internal teams—Marketing, Internal Communications, and Social Media—to deliver integrated campaigns that elevate brand preference and reputation.

You’ll also support our dual ambitions of becoming the UK’s second flag carrier and an industry leader in sustainability, ensuring our story reaches and resonates with the right audiences, from customers to stakeholders to the media.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop PR Strategy: Shape and execute consumer and corporate PR strategies that align with our commercial priorities and brand positioning.
  • Campaign Leadership: Plan and deliver compelling, cross-functional campaigns, creating stories that inspire and gain positive media traction.
  • Media Relations: Lead stakeholder media opportunities, interviews, and relationship-building to amplify our presence in key publications and in AI search.
  • Crisis & Reputation Management: Advise senior stakeholders on media strategy, manage issues, and support crisis response to safeguard brand reputation.
  • Collaboration & Innovation: Work with the wider Communications, Social, and Marketing teams to share insights, align messaging, and fuel creative ideation.
  • Performance Tracking: Set measurable press coverage goals, monitor results, and adapt strategy as needed to maximize impact.
  • Strategic Contribution: Play a key role in shaping the three-year comms plan and supporting the delivery of our company strategy.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
