JOB PURPOSE

The PR Samples Assistant plays a fundamental role in supporting the global communications team by managing the lifecycle of press samples with precision and efficiency. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to deepen their expertise in public relations within the luxury fashion context, contributing to seamless sample operations that directly impact Burberry’s media presence and brand reputation worldwide.

As a key operational pillar, the role demands meticulous organisational skills, proactive communication, and the capacity to build effective partnerships across multiple departments. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring timely and accurate sample distribution, enhancing the relationship between Burberry and the global press network while gaining valuable insight into the strategic workings of fashion PR.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of global press samples including but not limited to:
    • Managing all send outs and returns globally across menswear and womenswear
    • Managing the receipting of new samples and responsible for the organisation of looks and the samples cupboard
    • Creating, tracking and monitoring samples on fashion GPS
    • Detailed quality control of any returning samples
    • Managing shipping invoices and customs documentation
    • Tracking couriers and shipments to ensure no delays
    • Overseeing the delivery of all PR samples and gifting orders globally
  • Management of the archiving system for all Burberry runway and main line collections
  • Supporting wider PR team during key moments such as shows, press days and other events
  • Reporting on sample activity on a weekly basis
  • Ad-hoc support to the wider PR team and contributing to running the global press office efficiently

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Exceptional organisational abilities and an eagle eye for detail, ensuring accuracy and reliability in all tasks related to sample handling.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of fostering positive, collaborative relationships internally and with external partners.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with the flexibility to adapt and excel in a fast-moving, ever-evolving luxury fashion environment.
  • A genuine interest in luxury fashion, accompanied by cultural awareness that supports nuanced understanding of market trends and media landscapes.
  • Experience working within luxury fashion PR is highly advantageous, demonstrating familiarity with industry standards and expectations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting; knowledge of Launchmetrics or similar PR tracking tools is preferred, enabling effective monitoring and analysis of sample distribution and media activity.
