Job Title: AWS Solutions Architect - Strategic Accounts
About the Role
The AWS Strategic Accounts team is committed to helping some of the largest and most complex customers enable their digital transformation journeys. Our primary goal is to meet customers in their cloud journeys and work backwards from their industry-specific needs to transform their businesses and industries. Our team focuses on business outcomes and industry use cases on behalf of our customers, whether that is how we build products and solutions, how we sell, how we deliver, or how we partner.
As an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solutions Architect within the Strategic Accounts segment, you are responsible for partnering with our most valuable & technically capable customers, to design cloud architectures utilizing AWS services. As part of this team, you will blend business acumen with technical guidance to effectively engage with Enterprise scale organizations at all stages of cloud adoption, helping them reinvent their businesses using AWS technology, guiding them on their cloud journey.
In this role, you will help our customers solve business challenges such as rapidly releasing products/services to the market or building an elastic, scalable, cost optimized application. You will engage with AWS product owners to influence product direction and help our customers develop their new markets by utilizing AWS Services and newly defined architectural approaches.
Through your work with our customers you will define patterns and trends that can be applied across broad industries and segments to help other customers accelerate their innovation.
As a trusted customer advocate, you will help organizations understand and implement advanced cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate and scale existing workloads in the cloud. You will have the opportunity to shape and execute a strategy to build knowledge and broad use of AWS. You will also need to be adept at interacting, communicating and partnering with other teams within AWS such as services teams, marketing, and professional services, as well as representing your team to executive management.
For this role, we are looking for candidates who have technical breadth complimented by technical depth in one or two areas, business aptitude, and the ability to lead in-depth technology discussions, articulating the business value of the AWS platform and services. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required for engaging our customers at all levels of seniority.
If you are excited about the prospect of using your architecture experience to assist our most valuable customers, tackling challenging problems, have a hand in shaping the future of cloud adoption, enhancing and growing your own skills, and having fun, then we would love to hear from you.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
