Job Title

A rapidly scaling e-commerce company based in Blackpool. The business is a market leader in its space, with a high-profile founder and ambitious growth plans. They have two junior PR team members in place and now require a senior PR professional to take full ownership of the function.

About the Role

This is a senior, hands-on PR role with full ownership of the function. The successful candidate will lead the internal PR team and be responsible for elevating the company's PR output. The business has strong brand awareness and a loyal customer base, but recognises the need for more sophisticated, proactive PR to support its next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a small internal PR team, providing senior guidance and training
  • Own the full PR strategy and execution, moving beyond reactive press office into proactive campaigns
  • Diversify PR output into proactive campaigns, reactive PR, and newsjacking opportunities
  • Build and execute a founder profiling strategy, raising the CEO's profile in business and trade press
  • Develop and deliver broadcast PR, including TV and radio opportunities
  • Implement PR tools and infrastructure (media databases, monitoring platforms, journalist request services)
  • Create a crisis management framework to protect the company's reputation
  • Develop and own the brand's tone of voice across all external communications
  • Identify and execute PR opportunities around the company's charitable and community activity
  • Work closely with the marketing team to align PR with broader commercial objectives

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
