Location: Hybrid Working
Salary: Competitive (Dependent Upon Experience)
Working Hours: Full-Time with Flexible Working Hours

The Appointment

A long-established and highly respected independent accountancy practice is seeking to appoint an experienced Practice Accountant to join its friendly and close-knit team.
The practice advises a broad portfolio of owner-managed businesses, limited companies, sole traders, and self-employed individuals, taking considerable pride in delivering a personal service of the highest standard. Owing to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an accountant with at least five years' UK practice experience who is capable of assuming responsibility from the outset.
Whether your strengths lie principally in bookkeeping, accounts preparation, taxation, or a combination thereof, you will be joining a firm where professionalism, integrity, and lasting client relationships remain at the heart of everything they do.

The Role

Responsibilities are likely to include:

  • Preparing annual statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of limited companies and sole traders.
  • Managing bookkeeping assignments and ensuring accurate financial records are maintained.
  • Preparing and submitting Self Assessment Tax Returns.
  • Preparing Corporation Tax computations and returns.
  • Providing advice and support to self-employed clients and owner-managed businesses.
  • Assisting clients with Capital Gains Tax and CIS-related matters where appropriate.
  • Liaising directly with clients, HMRC, and fellow professionals.
  • Ensuring all statutory deadlines are met accurately and efficiently.
  • Developing trusted, long-standing relationships through the delivery of an exceptional client service.

The Successful Applicant

You will possess:

  • A minimum of five years' experience within a UK accountancy practice.
  • ACA, ACCA, or Qualified by Experience (QBE).
  • The confidence and ability to manage your own client portfolio with minimal supervision.
  • Experience preparing accounts, bookkeeping, and tax work within practice.
  • A professional and personable approach, coupled with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to providing first-class client service.
