A9 Accountancy Limited is an independent chartered accountancy firm serving the Highland business community with tailored financial services. The company is fast growing and based in a modern business park in Inverness, just off the A9, with convenient access and ample parking. The Inverness team supports clients across the Highlands and beyond, delivering a full range of accountancy services. With extensive experience in general practice, tax planning, and business consultancy, the firm advises businesses of all sizes in sectors such as construction, hospitality and leisure, farming, research and development, technology, telecommunications, and renewables.
Job Description
We are seeking an ICAS/ACCA/AAT/ACA qualified or part qualified candidate who has experience of a broad range of clients, including partnerships, sole traders, charities, and limited companies.
The Role
The work is varied and ranges from typical year-end compliance for limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, and charities to VAT and personal tax returns.

The role is permanent and would suit a qualified or part qualified accountant who is seeking to consolidate their knowledge of accounts and compliance and take it to the next level by building on their advisory (qualified candidates), client management, and supervisory skills. For part qualified candidates, support to complete professional qualifications will be provided.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for working on a variety of clients' affairs. The role includes, but is not limited to, the following key elements, delivered within agreed deadlines:
- Preparation of year-end financial statements
- Preparation of corporation tax and personal tax returns
- Assisting clients with VAT and bookkeeping queries, including the setup and support of cloud accounting systems
- Training and supporting other members of the team
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships

Person Specification
- Experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Proficient in cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- ICAS/ACA/ACCA/AAT qualified or part qualified with relevant experience
- A can-do attitude and a desire to get the job done
- Ambitious, self-motivated, and keen to develop professionally
- A proactive approach to learning, taking on responsibility, and contributing to the continued growth of the firm
