Are you an experienced Sexual Health Nurse with a passion for developing others, sharing your clinical expertise and raising standards of care?
We're looking for a knowledgeable and motivated Practice Educator to join our Leicestershire and Rutland Sexual Health Hub, taking a leading role in developing and delivering high-quality clinical education and training across our services and wider healthcare community.
This is an opportunity to make a real difference, not just to the professional development of colleagues, but to the quality and accessibility of sexual health services delivered to local communities.
Based in Loughborough, this is a permanent, part-time position working 19 hours per week, with travel across Leicestershire and Rutland to support colleagues and healthcare partners.
You'll use your clinical knowledge, teaching experience and leadership skills to influence best practice, build professional confidence and support the development of a skilled and competent workforce.
What You'll Do
As our Practice Educator, you'll lead the development, coordination and delivery of clinical education and training across the Leicestershire and Rutland Sexual Health Hub.
Working closely with our clinical teams, outreach services, GPs, pharmacies and other healthcare partners, you'll identify learning needs, develop training programmes and ensure colleagues have the knowledge, skills and competencies to deliver safe, effective sexual health care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and delivering structured education and training programmes for clinical and non-clinical colleagues, both within the service and across our wider healthcare network.
- Supporting the training, assessment and development of healthcare professionals in contraception, sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening and treatment, and Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC).
- Providing clinical supervision, competency assessments and ongoing professional development support to colleagues, including those working towards FSRH qualifications.
- Working collaboratively with GPs, pharmacy professionals, school nursing teams, health visitors and other partners to strengthen sexual health knowledge and clinical practice.
- Identifying gaps in knowledge and skills, developing tailored learning opportunities and evaluating the effectiveness of training delivered.
- Supporting clinical governance, quality improvement and the implementation of current evidence-based guidance and professional standards.
- Building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promoting a consistent and joined-up approach to sexual health education across Leicestershire and Rutland.
- Supporting clinical practice within the Sexual Health Hub where required, helping maintain high standards of patient care alongside your educational responsibilities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
