We have an exciting opportunity for a Practice Manager - Neurodiversity to join Southampton City Council's SEND Service.
About The Team
Southampton City Council is delivering an ambitious programme of SEND reform through Southampton 360 model, our city-wide approach to improving inclusion, strengthening early intervention and ensuring children and young people receive the right support at the right time. Central to this model is our Experts at Hand approach, which brings together specialist expertise from education, health and care to build workforce confidence, strengthen inclusive practice and improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
As part of this transformation, the Neurodiversity Multi-Disciplinary Team (ND MDT) plays a key role in supporting children and young people with neurodivergent profiles. The team works collaboratively across education, health, care and family-facing services to provide advice, support, workforce development and capacity-building that promotes earlier help and more consistent support across the city.
About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead Southampton's neurodiversity transformation programme and shape the future of neurodiversity-informed practice across the local area.
As Practice Manager - Neurodiversity, you will provide practice leadership, operational oversight and strategic coordination for the neurodiversity portfolio within Southampton 360 model. You will lead the ongoing development of the Neurodiversity Multi-Disciplinary Team, ensuring that services are coordinated, evidence-informed and responsive to the needs of children, young people and families.
You will work closely with colleagues across education, health and care to embed neurodiversity-informed approaches, strengthen inclusive practice and support earlier identification and intervention. The role will involve overseeing quality assurance, workforce development, performance monitoring, partnership working and service improvement, ensuring a consistent and high-quality experience for families and professionals.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
