Our clinic based in Hook seeks an enthusiastic and confident Practice Manager to join the team!
As our Practice Manager, you’ll play a vital role in both the operational and business aspects of the practice, ensuring exceptional client and patient care.
Hook Vets is a thriving practice, which has expanded over the last 2 years and has exciting plans for the future. The practice is located in a small town in Hampshire with excellent road and rail links. We are situated within a 5 minute drive of the M3, J5, and a 3-minute walk from Hook station, which is on the mainline to London Waterloo/ Southampton Central.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As Practice Manager, you will lead the non-clinical operations of the practice, working closely with clinical leadership to ensure efficient day-to-day running, strong team performance, and an outstanding client experience.
You’ll be responsible for operational delivery, people management, and compliance, while supporting the practice to achieve its performance, quality, and service objectives. This role plays a key part in creating a positive culture and enabling clinical teams to deliver excellent care.

Responsibilities
- Leading and supporting the practice team - fostering a positive and motivated work environment.
- Handling HR responsibilities, including payroll, recruitment, staff development, and absence management.
- Managing debt recovery processes and addressing client complaints professionally.
- Ensuring high safety compliance, supporting the team with protocols and risk assessments.
Working full time Monday-Friday
You Might Be a Great Fit If...
You are an experienced people and operations manager with strong leadership capability. You’ll bring:
- Proven experience in a management role, ideally within healthcare, veterinary, or service-led environments
- Strong people management skills, including performance management and team development
- Good operational and organisational capability, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience handling complaints, change, and complex situations with confidence
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
