About the role

Patient Care Locally (PCL) is looking for an experienced and motivated Practice Nurse to join our growing clinical team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse who enjoys working directly with patients and wants to play an important role in delivering accessible, locally based healthcare services across our communities.

Working as part of our clinical team, you will support the delivery of services through our Roving Health Units, GP practices and other community settings. You will deliver vaccinations, undertake a range of practice nursing activities and support health promotion, particularly in areas experiencing deprivation and health inequalities.

You will work both independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team, using your clinical knowledge and professional judgement to provide safe, effective and patient-centred care.

What you will be doing

Your role will include:

  • Delivering vaccinations through our Roving Health Units and supporting vaccination programmes within GP practices.
  • Providing a range of Practice Nurse services, including wound care, ECGs, venepuncture, immunisations, new patient medicals and women's health.
  • Undertaking cervical cytology and other relevant clinical procedures within your scope of practice.
  • Requesting pathology tests, processing results and advising patients appropriately.
  • Supporting health promotion and raising awareness of vaccination and wider health issues.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records using systems such as SystmOne.
  • Supporting effective infection prevention and control, including safe management of specimens, PPE, sharps, waste and clinical environments.
  • Maintaining appropriate stock levels and ensuring vaccines and clinical equipment are safely managed.
  • Identifying and escalating clinical, health and safety or quality concerns appropriately.
  • Working collaboratively with GP practices, colleagues and other healthcare organisations to meet patients' needs.
  • Working within relevant policies, protocols, professional standards and your own scope of practice.
  • Contributing to service improvement, quality initiatives and the ongoing development of the team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
