Part Time 30 hours per week
Band 6 Salary Range £43,231 - £52,679 per annum (pro rata)
Distant Islands Allowance of £2,578 per annum (pro rata)

Are you an experienced treatment room nurse, who is enthusiastic about working in Primary Care and wants to make a difference? If so we want you to join us working as part of the nursing team delivering care to the population of Yell. The role of the General Practice Nurse is a key member of the practice team who is proactive in health engagement, health prevention and health management. You should be able to provide comprehensive and personalised care to individuals across their lifespan and are directly accessible by the whole practice population.

The preferred applicant will be a qualified nurse with post registration Practice Nursing experience who has completed the SDPS GPN Education Pathway or similar. However, consideration would be given for a development post for the right applicant. A commitment to delivering evidenced based care, with a willingness to independently manage Long Term Conditions and patient safety is essential. As is an ability to work across bases on occasion to support Practice Nurses throughout Shetland and the community nursing team when required. During training period, you will be paid as per Annex 21 guidance from Agenda for Change T&C’s on Arrangements for pay and banding of trainees.
Full driving license is preferred and an ability to work autonomously is essential. All these qualities, combined provide a pivotal role within the wider multi-disciplinary practice team which contributes significantly to improving health outcomes and reducing health inequalities.
