This placement offers a unique opportunity to gain experience across our Law and Governance department, with exposure to Committee and Member Services, Electoral Services, Information and Governance, and Legal Services. You will have the opportunity to work across all functions, with an emphasis on legal services, gaining valuable knowledge and experience at the start of your career journey.

You will have the opportunity to work with the Law, Governance and Strategy Directorate across most functions and will be:

  • An integral part of our small Legal Practice Support Team;
  • Keen to learn and willing to take part;
  • Committed to learning: on-the-job, in short courses and a Level 3 apprenticeship course in Business Administration;
  • Reliable and have good attention to detail;
  • Willing to work outside normal office hours at peak times (usually around the time of elections);
  • Politically neutral

The apprenticeship will guide you through both on-the-job and academic taught skills to enable you to not only understand but develop your skills as an administration officer. You will be assigned a manager and a mentor who will support you throughout your apprenticeship. They will ensure you gain the right experience and skills, whilst working towards your Level 3 Business Administration qualification through Abingdon and Witney college.
