Job Description
As a Practice Support Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the effectiveness and development of the Delivery Management profession.
Working alongside the Practice Manager, you will support the day-to-day operation of the practice, with a focus on workforce planning, recruitment, governance, assurance, capability development and continuous improvement.
You will use data and information to identify risks, trends and opportunities, provide insight to support decision-making and help ensure practice governance, communications and guidance remain effective and up to date.
You will work across teams and professional communities, coordinating activity, improving ways of working and helping the practice deliver its workforce, capability and operational priorities.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complex activity, using insight to solve problems and working collaboratively to deliver improvements.
Person specification
- Coordinate recruitment, workforce planning and capability development across the practice.
- Monitor performance, risks and dependencies, using data and insight to support informed decision-making.
- Provide assurance, management information and briefings to senior stakeholders and governance forums.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen practice effectiveness and ways of working.
- Maintain clear and accurate practice guidance, communications and information.
- Work across teams and professional communities to coordinate priorities and share good practice.
- Support the operational management of a multi-million-pound, outcome-based supplier contract.
Essential Criteria
- Experience supporting operational governance, workforce management, business management, or delivery functions.
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate activity across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Experience supporting recruitment, resource planning, workforce management, and practice-based or professional communities.
- Experience analysing data and information to identify risks, issues, trends, and opportunities, and using insights to inform decision-making.
- Experience developing reports, management information, briefing materials, and communications for a range of stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, maintain momentum on improvement activities, and drive outcomes through effective collaboration.

Leeds Locations
Moves Adjustment Payment will be available for this role, provided the successful applicant is a current HMRC colleague in Bradford and meets the eligibility requirements outlined in the HMRC's Moves Adjustment Payment guidance.

You must have a ITIL Foundation qualification, or willingness to obtain this shortly after appointment

Interview

Reserve List

Merit List
After interview, a single merit list will be created, and you will only be considered for posts in locations you have expressed a preference for. Appointments will be made in strict merit order in line with the set number of roles in each location.
