Location: Patient and Client Council (PCC)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Staffline is recruiting a Senior Practitioner to deliver engagement, advocacy, guidance, and confidential support to patients, service users, carers, families, and communities across Northern Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual advocacy, guidance, and confidential support by telephone, in person, and at meetings.
- Manage a defined caseload and help individuals communicate concerns relating to Health and Social Care services.
- Facilitate group sessions, Citizen Hubs, Engagement Platform discussions, and working groups.
- Support individuals and families through complaints, Serious Adverse Incidents, and Public Inquiries.
- Develop tailored action plans and work collaboratively with statutory, voluntary, and community organisations.
- Coordinate multi-agency meetings and accompany individuals to meetings with service providers.
- Identify safeguarding concerns and provide appropriate support, escalation, and signposting.
- Help remove barriers relating to accessibility, literacy, language, additional needs, or emotional distress.
- Maintain accurate case information and a current knowledge of relevant policies and procedures.

Essential Criteria
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- A university degree or relevant professional qualification, with at least two years’ paid experience supporting vulnerable people to overcome significant challenges.
- OR
- At least five years’ experience supporting vulnerable people to overcome significant challenges, including one year coordinating projects or casework involving partnership working, public engagement, or advocacy.

Applicants must also have:
- Experience working or liaising with statutory and voluntary organisations.
- Experience developing constructive relationships with service providers while advocating on behalf of service users.
- Strong communication skills, including empathy, active listening, and the ability to understand and resolve concerns.
