Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams (Complex Needs Service Line)

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with advanced skills in psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for adults with complex mental health needs. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical leadership, excellent multidisciplinary working, and the ability to provide consultation, supervision and support to colleagues.

  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and partnership-working skills.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams while being supported by experienced Principal and Consultant Psychologists within a strong professional psychology network.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering high quality, trauma-informed psychological assessment, formulation, intervention and consultation for people with complex mental health needs.
  • Working collaboratively with service users, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Promoting personalised, recovery-focused care.
  • Upholding professional and statutory responsibilities.
  • Contributing to safeguarding, equality and inclusion.

Additional Duties

  • Leadership of psychological practice.
  • Supervision and appraisal of psychologists and trainees.
  • Development of staff training.
  • Participation in research, audit and service improvement.
  • Contribution to policy, care pathway and workforce development.

The successful candidate will work across an integrated neighbourhood team, helping to build strong partnerships with health, social care, voluntary sector and community organisations to improve outcomes, reduce inequalities and support delivery of the Community Mental Health Framework.

Surrey is a beautiful county lying just 30 minutes away from Central London and from the South Coast. Our historic market towns and bustling districts are enveloped in wonderful countryside, and our excellent road and rail networks bring the rest of the country within easy reach. For international travel, both Gatwick and Heathrow airports are nearby.
