Pulse Mental Health is currently recruiting for an experienced Clinical Psychologist, Counselling Psychologist or Forensic Psychologist to join a specialist Adult Mental Health Service based in Mid Wales.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Band 7 or Band 8a Psychologist looking to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality psychological interventions to adults experiencing a range of mental health difficulties and trauma-related presentations. The service is seeking a psychologist who can be present in clinic at least four days per week, working from either Newtown or Llandrindod Wells.
The role offers a competitive hourly rate, regular clinical support and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a well-established community mental health service.
Responsibilities
As a Psychologist within the service, you will:
- Provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for adults presenting with a range of mental health difficulties.
- Deliver evidence-based psychological therapies tailored to individual client needs.
- Work with individuals experiencing complex trauma and other common or severe mental health presentations.
- Undertake comprehensive risk assessments and contribute to risk management planning.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, supporting holistic and person-centred care.
- Provide psychological consultation and guidance to colleagues and partner services where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.
- Contribute to service development initiatives and continuous quality improvement activities.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Doctorate level qualification in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology or Forensic Psychology.
- HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Experience working within adult mental health services.
- Experience delivering evidence-based psychological interventions.
- Strong assessment, formulation and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
- Experience working with trauma presentations.
- Previous NHS experience.
