Pre-Application Equity Release Underwriting Assistant

Within the role, you’ll manage your workload effectively to meet targets, respond in a timely manner to adviser queries received via phone and webchat, and continuously maintain current knowledge of equity release criteria in a rapidly changing market, allowing you to make timely and accurate decisions.

This is a permanent role, based at our Hitchin office, offered on a hybrid working model in line with business requirements.

Key Accountabilities

Within this role, you will…

  • Monitor team and individual mailboxes, ensuring emails are reviewed and responded to promptly.
  • Respond to adviser queries via webchat, providing accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Maintain current knowledge of equity release criteria and developments within a rapidly changing market.
  • Handle adviser calls professionally, providing clear and accurate information.
  • Make prompt and accurate decisions on whether a case meets the relevant acceptance criteria, providing clear justification for each outcome.
  • Review documents and data efficiently, identifying key information while maintaining close attention to detail.
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality, attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, stakeholders and teams across the organisation.
  • Provide support to colleagues where required.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have…

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • The ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, changing environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to plan, manage and prioritise your workload in response to customer needs.
  • The ability to manage complex cases independently while supporting the team to achieve key targets.
  • A proactive approach to anticipating and responding to the evolving needs of the business and industry.
  • The confidence to make sound, pragmatic decisions on individual cases in line with regulatory requirements and LV= values.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
