Purpose of the Role
Ensure that all electronic security is designed, coordinated and positioned before construction proceeds including Video Monitoring, Access Control and Intruder Hardware and that structured cabling and cable paths are fully understood, documented and constructible.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-construction design & coordination
- Lead pre-construction design for electronic security across the exclusive client project.
- Position and specify Video Monitoring (CCTV / VMS), Access Control and Intruder Hardware so coverage, detection and control points meet operational and design intent.
- Produce and maintain design packages: device layouts, mounting details, riser and containment coordination, schematic diagrams and design risk notes.
- Review architectural, structural, MEP and interior drawings; identify clashes early and resolve cable routes, containment and equipment locations with the wider design team.
- Define structured cabling requirements, cable types, pathways, containment, comms rooms, patching and PoE / power strategy for all security devices.
- Ensure designs are constructible, standards-compliant and future-proof, reducing variations during the build.
Project management
- Plan, track and report pre-construction deliverables, dependencies and design freeze dates.
- Coordinate multi-vendor and multi-discipline inputs; manage information flow between client, consultants, contractors and Stilo.
- Maintain scope control, risk registers and change logs relating to electronic security design.
- Support surveys, design workshops, technical queries and construction-readiness reviews.
- Contribute to programme alignment so security installation can proceed on time, on budget and to the client’s standards.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
