We are working with an established business within the architectural glazing and façade sector that is looking to appoint an experienced Pre-Construction Design Manager.

This role will focus on taking projects from tender and handover through the design process, ensuring designs are practical, coordinated and suitable for manufacture and installation.

The Role

You’ll work closely with Estimators, Contracts Managers, clients and external design teams to manage the progression of design packages through to construction status.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Attending project handovers with the Estimating and Contracts teams to understand the project requirements and design scope.
  • Coordinating with subcontract design teams and establishing design programmes and approval timeframes.
  • Managing the progression of design between the client and external designers.
  • Managing client design portals such as Procore, identifying design changes and ensuring these are communicated to the relevant teams.
  • Establishing and maintaining client drawing protocols, including drawing numbers and status requirements.
  • Reviewing technical submissions against the original tender design.
  • Identifying design variances and working with the Commercial Manager where these arise.
  • Attending design meetings with clients and driving designs through to construction status.
  • Reviewing manufacturing drawings before release to ensure all necessary information is present and coordinated.
  • Working closely with internal teams to ensure designs are practical, buildable and suitable for manufacture and installation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
