Pre-Construction Manager
MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting a Pre-Construction Manager for our client, a leading construction contractor delivering high-quality fit-out and refurbishment projects across the UK and Ireland. This role would suit an experienced Estimating Manager, Senior Estimator or Pre-Construction Manager looking to take the next step in leading a growing estimating function and shaping bid strategy across high-value projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the estimating team.
- Develop bid win strategies and programmes with senior management.
- Oversee tenders from initial opportunity through to award and handover.
- Review tender documentation and identify key risks and opportunities.
- Lead internal and external tender meetings.
- Develop competitive pricing strategies based on market conditions.
- Support new business development and client relationships.
- Mentor and develop the estimating team.

Requirements
- Strong estimating experience within construction, ideally fit-out/refurbishment.
- Previous experience managing or leading an estimating team.
- Experience delivering projects up to £30m.
- Understanding of single-stage, two-stage and negotiated tenders.
- Experience with estimating software.
- Strong commercial, communication and organisational skills.
- Relevant Estimating, Quantity Surveying or construction qualification.
- RICS/CIOB/A. Cost E membership desirable.
