Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Pre-litigation Fee Earner role based in Preston. The role involves managing a caseload of pre-litigation matters, including credit hire, vehicle damage, storage recovery, and related loss claims, from initial instruction through pre-action stages. The fee earner will liaise with clients, insurers, credit hire organisations, and third parties, negotiate settlements, and provide clear updates on case progression. The role also requires:
- Accurate file management
- Compliance with regulatory and firm procedures
- Collaboration with colleagues to ensure timely, commercially effective outcomes
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Law and Civil Litigation, with experience handling pre-litigation matters.
- Understanding of Insurance-related claims, including credit hire and subrogated loss recovery.
- Experience dealing with Property Damage and vehicle-related loss recovery.
- Practical exposure to Litigation processes and court procedures is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting clear, concise legal correspondence.
- Proven ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong negotiation skills and commercially minded approach to settlement and case strategy.
- IT literacy, including case management systems and standard office software.
- Relevant legal qualification (e.g., LLB, LPC, CILEX, or equivalent experience in a similar fee earner role).
- Attention to detail, professional integrity, and a client-focused approach.
