Pre-Sales Applications Engineer

Are you a technically strong engineer who enjoys solving complex customer challenges? Our client is looking for a Pre-Sales Applications Engineer to bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and real-world customer requirements.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you'll work closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to design solutions, deliver demonstrations, and provide technical expertise throughout the sales process. You'll split your time between customer meetings, lab-based testing, field deployments, and technical problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the sales process from initial customer engagement through to contract award.
  • Translate customer requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Deliver technical presentations, workshops, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept activities.
  • Develop deep expertise across hardware, software, and integrated system solutions.
  • Collaborate with product teams, providing customer and market feedback to influence future development.
  • Build and test demonstration environments, application use cases, and technical documentation.
  • Support customer deployments and field activities when required.
  • Produce high-quality proposals, bid content, and technical collateral.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues across hardware, software, networking, and RF environments.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
