Field-based (South-East-based) with regular travel to customer sites, partner locations and Toshiba TEC offices
We’re looking for an experienced Barcode Pre-Sales Specialist who has a proven track record of supporting barcode hardware and software sales.
The successful candidate will already have experience delivering technical pre-sales support, product demonstrations and solution design for barcode hardware, including Toshiba TEC label printers.
Working closely with our Direct and Indirect Sales teams, you will act as the technical authority throughout the sales cycle, helping customers identify the right barcode printing solution whilst providing expert technical guidance, demonstrations and training.
Scope
- Provide pre-sales support to Direct and Indirect sales staff for both hardware & software solutions
- Provide Barcode product demonstrations
- Provide Barcode product sales training
- Support the growth of Toshiba TEC hardware and software solutions sales
- Develop and grow the Toshiba solutions portfolio across our customer base
- Increase Toshiba Barcode revenue streams
Key Accountabilities
- Support The Sales Team and Business Partners in assessing customer requirements and positioning appropriate hardware & software solutions
- Provide client demonstrations on software & hardware solutions
- Attend customer and reseller meetings to provide pre-sales technical assistance on solution hardware and product specifications
- To assist in new product testing and evaluation
- Achieve sales KPIs as set by manager
- Document customer requirements to allow correct selection of hardware & software products based on customer requirements
Responsibilities
- Provide technical pre-sales support for Toshiba barcode hardware, label printers and associated software solutions
- Conduct customer discovery sessions to understand operational, technical and business requirements
- Design and recommend appropriate barcode hardware and software solutions based on customer requirements
- Deliver engaging product demonstrations, proof of concepts and technical presentations to customers, partners and internal stakeholders
- Support Sales teams throughout the sales process, including technical qualification, solution positioning, tender responses and proposal creation
- Attend customer meetings as the technical expert, providing detailed product knowledge and solution guidance
- Work with Business Partners and resellers to develop opportunities and increase Toshiba TEC barcode hardware sales
- Assist with new product testing, evaluation and market readiness
- Deliver product and technical training for internal sales teams, partners and customers
- Work collaboratively with Marketing on product launches, exhibitions and promotional activities
- Maintain an expert level of knowledge across Toshiba TEC barcode hardware, label printer technology, barcode software and relevant third-party solutions
- Support sales provide pricing quotes for hardware & solutions products where necessary
- Share technical knowledge across the wider business and support colleagues with product updates and best practice

Essential Experience/ Skills
- Demonstrable experience in a Barcode Pre-Sales, Technical Consultant or Solutions Specialist role
- Proven experience supporting the sale of barcode hardware, label printers and barcode software solutions
- Previous technical and application knowledge of Toshiba TEC barcode products
- Industrial and desktop barcode printing technologies
- Experience delivering customer demonstrations, proof of concepts and technical workshops
- Experience gathering customer requirements and translating these into appropriate hardware and software solutions
- Experience supporting tenders, technical proposals and solution documentation
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience delivering technical and product training
- Excellent networking, Windows and software integration knowledge
- Strong presentation, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple customer engagements whilst working independently

- Microsoft technical certifications (MCP, MCSE or equivalent)
- Strong working knowledge of Toshiba TEC industrial and desktop barcode printer range

They will play a key role in growing Toshiba TEC's barcode hardware revenue by delivering best-in-class technical pre-sales support across the UK.
