Pre-sales Cisco Quoting Specialist

A fantastic opportunity has become available within the Vendor Configuration Services team (VCS), part of our wider Group Technology Sourcing (GTS) organisation. Guided by our vision to ‘be the best’, GTS plays a vital role in enabling the success of our customers by delivering trusted, agile, and innovative advisory services.

Join VCS to participate in a key role in turning Enterprise technology opportunities into customer success stories by collaborating with Sales teams and strategic vendor partners to deliver expert Solution Builds/Bill of Materials, technical validation, and commercial quoting. This adds value to our Computacenter business by ensuring compliance and maximises competitiveness with top competitors.

The successful candidate will support our Sales organisation by producing detailed Cisco Bills of Materials (BoMs) and generating accurate Networking and Data Centre quotations, ensuring timely and effective support for sales opportunities. With a view to broaden technical and commercial knowledge by developing expertise in additional vendor portfolios supporting Networking, Data Centre, and Artificial Intelligence solutions.

Our customers operate large-scale, complex technology environments, requiring a strong understanding of enterprise technologies and solutions. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness, supporting customers on their transformation journeys and helping them to change the world.

What you’ll do

  • Contribute with expert knowledge of Cisco products and utilise Cisco Commerce Workspace (CCW) to design, build, and accurately price Cisco solutions (and eventually other vendor solutions)
  • Maintain current knowledge of vendor and distributor pricing models, incentive programmes, promotional offers, and associated commercial processes
  • Work with vendors and the Sales teams to ensure all quotations are competitive and profitable
  • Collaborate internally with Customer Executives, Solution Specialists, and Account Managers to develop a deep understanding of the customer opportunity
  • Build and nurture strong relationships across our vendor and Sales communities to help drive business
  • Contribute ideas that support continuous improvement and help create an environment that develops our processes and long-term business growth
  • Work to become aware of new vendors/technology to build and add future value

What you’ll need

  • A solid understanding of enterprise networking concepts and technologies
  • An understanding of modern data centre technologies
  • Awareness of Cisco's portfolio, including networking, security, collaboration, data centre, and software solutions
  • Knowledge of Cisco licensing models and subscription programmes, including Enterprise Agreements
  • Proven experience using Cisco Commerce Workspace (CCW) to configure, validate, and quote Cisco solutions accurately and efficiently
  • Experience using Salesforce CRM platforms
  • Experience building and maintaining successful relationships with vendors or stakeholders
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness, with experience supporting sales opportunities
  • Technical/commercial awareness of vendors beyond Cisco is desirable
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, accurate work under pressure
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team while taking ownership of tasks
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset & taking ownership of personal development
