Sales Engineer

The Sales Engineer is responsible for providing exemplary technical support to the sales team focusing on both a territory and named enterprise accounts. The Sales Engineer assists in driving new business from prospective and existing customer accounts within their respective assigned territories, and meeting and/or exceeding the sales quotas to achieve revenue goals. This position will organize, plan, direct, and coordinate all aspects of the technical pre-sales engagement for prospective to ensure the technical win.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage technical pre-sales engagements across UK & Ireland and in general in EMEA West Region, supporting both direct customers and channel partners.
  • Participate in sales calls and on-site (or virtual) visits to explore customer requirements and to explain and articulate the value proposition of the RSA solution including features, technical architecture, and integration with existing customer infrastructure.
  • Build and deliver custom presentations and demonstrations to customers and prospects.
  • Respond to RFIs/RFPs.
  • Own the technical relationship with the customer and ensure that the RSA proposal wins every technical evaluation.
  • Lead and coordinate requirements gathering at customer/prospect sites.
  • Conduct and lead customer’s solution evaluation (Proof-of-Concepts).
  • Provide first level technical support for solution evaluations.
  • Prepare functional requirements, functional specifications, and support in Project statement-of-work documents in support of system quotations.
  • Hold the technical relationship with RSA partners’ community within assigned territory.
  • Builds and deliver technical enablement sessions for RSA Partners.
  • Work in collaboration and closely with the entire International pre-sales function across RSA.

Skills and experience required:

  • Ideally 7+ year’s professional experience as part of an enterprise software company, including 5+ years of hands-on field sales support, software consulting, Presales engineer or similar experience.
  • Experienced with Identity Access Management/Governance solutions is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Java, Application Server, Database Technologies and Application Integrations is highly desirable as well.
  • Proven ability to successfully navigate and relate to varying levels of functional and technical personnel at customer sites.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent English is essential.
  • CISSP or similar certification is highly desirable.
