The digitization of tax compliance is fundamentally changing global commerce and how businesses need to operate and grow. Governments now have real-time visibility into business data, creating new challenges and new opportunities for organizations around the world. At Sovos, we're transforming tax compliance from a business requirement into a driver of growth through AI-powered technology that delivers the accurate, real-time insights businesses need to make smarter decisions.
We're solving more than today's tax compliance challenges. We're helping reshape global economies by enabling organizations to manage increasingly complex and rapidly changing regulatory environments with confidence – and helping communities thrive.
AI is accelerating what's possible, enabling tax and technology professionals to more effectively drive critical regulatory decisions. That's where Sovos excels, combining intelligent technology with human expertise to help customers stay ahead of change.
Don't worry if you don't check every box. We're focused on hiring great people, not perfect resumes. It's less about what you've done elsewhere and more about what you're capable of doing here.
The Role
At Sovos, we're transforming how businesses manage complex global compliance. This Pre-Sales Engineer role sits at the intersection of commercial strategy and technical advisory, supporting multi-country sales engagements across our tax and compliance technology portfolio. You'll act as a trusted advisor to enterprise customers, leading discovery, designing scalable solutions, and positioning the business value of our platform.
More Specifically, You Will
- Lead complex, multi-entity discovery sessions across global customer organisations, mapping transaction flows, ERP landscapes, and regulatory exposure.
- Design scalable, cross-border solution architectures aligned to business and compliance needs, positioning commercial value alongside technical functionality.
- Influence technical and business stakeholders, including senior decision-makers, and partner with Sales to shape account strategy and advance deals through structured qualification.
- Own technical responses for enterprise RFPs, RFIs and global tenders, and deliver tailored demonstrations reflecting global regulatory and ERP scenarios.
- Operate as a trusted advisor in partner-led and embedded solution models, collaborating cross-functionally to ensure seamless transition from pre-sales to implementation.
- Contribute to global pre-sales best practices, messaging, and competitive positioning, and maintain high-quality demo environments aligned with market requirements.
- Leverage AI tools to improve discovery workflows, automate response generation, and enhance demonstration personalisation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
