Market Intelligence & Strategy Manager

Position Type: Full time Type of Hire: Experienced (relevant combination of work and education)

About the Role

An expert role focused on complex research and analysis across industries, competitors, regulatory landscapes, and emerging technologies. This position drives innovation, optimises sales strategies, and enhances the organisation’s competitive edge by bridging market insight and product development.

In addition to core analysis and strategy, this individual will:

  • Play a key role in departmental outcomes by improving processes, systems, and product performance.
  • Operate with minimal supervision, making strategic decisions independently.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Industry & Market Intelligence

    • Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, competitor strategies, regulatory shifts, and emerging technologies.
    • Stay ahead of regulatory compliance and legal standards to ensure all products and services remain adherent to guidelines.
  • Product & Sales Strategy

    • Collaborate with product development teams to deliver data-driven market insights and shape innovative solutions.
    • Lead sales initiatives powered by strategy, trends, and client-centric recommendations to fuel business growth.
  • Client & External Engagement

    • Engage deeply with clients to understand their challenges, share expertise, and offer tailored solutions.
    • Identify and negotiate potential partnerships, collaborations, or vendor relationships to expand product offerings and market reach.

  • Risk & Risk Mitigation

    • Assess potential risks associated with products and services, developing mitigation plans to safeguard business operations.
  • Knowledge & Professional Growth

    • Contribute to thought leadership through publications, blogs, and social media.
    • Present insights at conferences or industry forums to extend FIS’s thought leadership.
    • Actively mentor junior colleagues, fostering experiential growth and deepening domain expertise.
  • System & Process Leadership

    • Oversee the implementation of systems, tools, or processes to enhance departmental efficiency and outcomes.
    • Handle complex issues with independence, analytical rigor, and strong judgment.
  • External Communication & Relations

    • Represent the company in communications with customers, vendors, or regulatory bodies.

Requirements

  • Proven **experience in a research, market analysis, or business strategy role (minimum moderate level).
  • Strong advanced education in**. economics, business, or related field** (or equivalent through specialised knowledge).
  • Analytical mindset with an ability to synthesise insights into strategic recommendations.
  • Proficient in data interpretation, reporting, and predictive analysis.
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Regulatory awareness with an eye on legal compliance in product development/business operations.
  • Initiative and ownership—ability to operate with limited supervision.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting complex topics to diverse audiences.
