The Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit in CGI is a true IT Systems Integrator. Role Description

CGI are on the lookout for a Solution Architect to be responsible for the development of pre sales solutions meeting client objectives and requirements for the Deployed Land Environment new business within CGI's Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit.

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to be a sole UK National and hold UK Security Clearance, or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid role, with requirements to be onsite in our Chippenham and Bristol offices as needed.

Candidate Profile

You will contribute to the identification and creation of new business growth and participate in strategic campaigns focused upon nominated high growth areas. You will be joining a growing team as a senior member and will work across projects with existing clients as well as with potential new clients. The successful candidate will have existing experience of systems within the Land TacCIS, ISTAR, CEMA and platform mission system domains.

  • Owning the credibility and integrity of solutions across the whole lifecycle, from client vision, through proposal into engineering delivery and acceptance.
  • Translate client business needs into solutions and communicate the business impact of technical choices.
  • Defining and controlling the solution and system architecture (including models, decisions, validation, evolution, and delivery support), working with the customer and any subcontractors to identify, trade off and design the overall architecture.
  • Developing client facing artefacts.
  • Understanding CGI's capabilities and intellectual property relevant to the Land domain, ensuring these are effectively positioned within solutions.
  • Track emerging technologies and market trends, identifying new opportunities for solution innovation and business growth.
  • Identifying, defining and driving the development of client relevant proof of value and proof of concept solutions that enable funded innovation and collaboration opportunities to mature with our clients.
  • Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, and conferences to promote offerings and expand market presence.

Essential

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

  • Significant experience of solution development within a business development context, ideally within a Deployed Land Environment (TacCIS, ISTAR, CEMA, land platforms) orientated System Integration or IT Services environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for a solution, considering strategic and tactical aspects.
  • Track record of designing high level architectures using standardized approaches and tools, requirements management and technical specifications, and then translating these into detailed designs.
  • Proven experience of interacting with external stakeholders to derive successful solutions.
  • Good understanding of the MoD and Army business processes, and acquisition processes and procedures.
  • Self sufficient and results driven, excited by the prospect of playing an important role in growing the business.
  • Demonstrable technical leadership skills including the ability to motivate, influence and coach multi disciplinary teams.
  • Strong presentation, interpersonal and influencing skills.
