Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer
Are you ready to sit at the intersection of deep technical architecture and strategic deal-making? RMG, a dedicated technology recruiting agency, is seeking an adaptable, client-focused Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer to serve as the critical technical authority during the enterprise sales cycle. In this permanent, full-time role, you will work remotely from anywhere in the United Kingdom, partnering directly with commercial teams and channel partners to design robust technical solutions, guide evaluations, and clearly convey the vital necessity of data security.
Salary
£70,000 base salary (£100,000 OTE).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, tailored technical presentations and live solution demonstrations that effectively communicate core security value to audiences ranging from technical administrators to C-level executives.
- Guide customers through complete technical evaluation cycles, orchestrating platform installations, leading seminars, and conducting hands-on proofs of concept.
- Translate customer infrastructure requirements into clear architectural designs, ensuring seamless integration into client environments.
- Take ownership of detailed technical RFP and RFI responses to ensure complete and compelling commercial bids.
- Serve as a trusted advisor alongside Account Managers, working proactively to identify technical pain points and support partner enablement initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience
- Proven track record in a pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical customer-facing role.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft technologies, particularly Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, and core domain services.
- Solid foundational understanding of security hardware and software, covering endpoint security, network defense, and broader data protection concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to author clear, thorough technical responses for RFPs, RFIs, and architectural proposals.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas into accessible business value.
- Right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Nice-to-Have
- Hands-on professional background in IT security, cybersecurity threat management, or information security environments.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or relevant Microsoft and Azure credentials.
