Pre-Tender Planner Main Contractor Hertfordshire

New Build & Refurbishment (50/50) | Typical Projects £1m-£5m | Salary £50,000-£70,000 + Car/Allowance

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Pre-Tender Planner to join a well-established, privately owned main contractor with a strong pipeline of work across Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas. This role suits someone looking to further their planning career within a stable, supportive business delivering a mix of new-build and refurbishment projects.

The company works across commercial buildings, education, healthcare, heritage, leisure, community facilities, residential, fit-outs, and specialist refurbishments. Typical schemes range from £1m-£5m, with the wider business capable of delivering projects up to £10m.

You'll be joining the Pre-Construction and Estimating team, working alongside two other Planners and supporting Estimators throughout the tender process. There is clear room for progression as the team continues to grow.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
