Pre-Transaction Project Manager | Leading UK Pensions Provider
Take UK DB transactions from pipeline to completion.
Our client is a well-established UK pensions provider with a strong pipeline of DB transactions and ambitious plans for growth. They need someone to get those deals over the line.
This is a hands-on, late-stage execution role for someone who thrives on the intensity of a deal and takes ownership without being asked.
What you’ll do:
- Chair twice-weekly pipeline catch-ups with the business development team, taking each live case through where it stands and what’s blocking it
- Join meetings with brokers and schemes considering a transaction, so you understand what’s happening and keep everyone in the loop
- Take schemes from “likely to transact in the next 6-12 months” through to completion, keeping every deal on time
- Pull together answers from across the business when actuaries, brokers and lawyers come with questions
- Keep a close grip on the detail in the final stretch: the legal workstream, asset transfers and the transaction tracker
- Work with brokers who are pushing hard to move things along, and be the person who keeps momentum up
- Take the existing templates and trackers and adapt them. There’s a good base to build on, but you’ll have the freedom to improve it

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
