About the Company

HSBC is a leading global bank with a mission to connect customers to opportunities, helping businesses thrive and economies prosper. Our culture is built on diversity and inclusivity, creating an environment where everyone can contribute, develop, and succeed.

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join our Wealth Management team in the role of Premier Relationship Manager, based in St Albans.

In this role, you’ll be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of HSBC Premier mass affluent clients (net worth £250k–£750k). You’ll provide a consistent, tailored Relationship & Wealth Management service, support customers through key life events, and proactively grow your portfolio by engaging prospective clients across a large patch with significant untapped potential.

You’ll work closely with Wealth Managers and branch colleagues to deliver an exceptional customer experience, generate quality referrals to specialists, and deepen relationships while operating with a strong risk and regulatory mindset.

This role is branch based in St Albans, with travel to branches across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Greater London, including visiting customers at their home or workplace where required. Due to the geographical nature of the portfolio, a driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required (expenses will be paid when incurred).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
