Salary: Grade 7 - points 23-25 (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm TBC

Christ the Saviour CE Primary School

Christ the Saviour CE Primary School is currently recruiting for an experienced Premises Manager to join the school in Ealing, West London.

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, with a September/October 2026 start.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, safety, and security of the school site, ensuring the buildings and grounds are safe, clean, and well maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors. You will work closely with the Business Manager and Headteacher, taking ownership of all aspects of site management, including overseeing contractors, health and safety compliance, cleaning operations, and planned maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the school's key holder, opening and securing the site each day.
  • Carry out daily visual inspections to ensure the site is safe, secure, and well maintained.
  • Undertake routine maintenance, minor repairs, decorating, and general upkeep of the buildings and grounds.
  • Identify maintenance requirements and recommend improvements to the school environment.
  • Manage minor maintenance projects and budgets.
  • Obtain quotations and liaise with contractors to ensure best value and quality of work.
  • Supervise contractors while on site and monitor completed works.
  • Maintain playgrounds, pathways, driveways, and external areas, including gritting and snow clearance when required.
  • Remove graffiti, litter, and hazards from the school grounds.
  • Provide porterage services, including deliveries, furniture moves, and equipment storage.
  • Take responsibility for Health and Safety across the school site.
  • Carry out regular risk assessments and complete routine fire safety checks.
  • Ensure all statutory inspections, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and compliance checks are completed and accurately recorded.
  • Respond to emergency callouts and security incidents when required.
  • Monitor alarms, access control, lighting, heating, and ventilation systems.
  • Supervise the cleaning team and maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the school.
  • Manage cleaning schedules, stock levels, and cleaning materials.
  • Build positive working relationships with staff, contractors, and visitors.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete relevant paperwork.
  • Attend training as required and maintain confidentiality at all times.

  • Monday to Friday
  • Full-time 40 hours per week (plus unpaid break)
  • Additional hours when required for school events

Experience, Training and Qualifications

  • Previous experience working as a Site Manager, Caretaker, Facilities Manager, Premises Manager, or in a similar role.
  • Experience carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and site management duties.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing contractors and maintenance schedules.
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations and fire safety procedures.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
